Paul Anthony Thomas (born October 5, 1980) is the bassist of the band Good Charlotte. He started out on the guitar, but then a friend influenced him to play the bass. Paul attended La Plata High School in La Plata, Maryland with Benji and Joel Madden, but was expelled after threatening to punch the principal in the face. Paul has known Benji and Joel since they were young children, and fellow Good Charlotte member Billy Martin since he joined the band in 1998. Paul is originally from Waldorf, Maryland. His favorite band is The Pixies. He has an elephant tattooed on his right arm inspired by his favorite painter, Salvador Dalí. His favorite cereal is Golden Grahams His favorite TV show is The Simpsons He has stars tattoed around his left calf, representing members of his family with his being outlined in blue. He wants to be a music producer for movie soundtracks. A fan favorite quote is 'No one has a crush on the bass player', which has inspired many t-shirt designs since. This stems from Paul's bewilderment that several of Good Charlotte's female fans had crushes on him. Paul plays five string basses. He is seen wearing a T-shirt with the Baroque Works' Symbol from the anime One Piece on it in the music video for 'Hold On'. He smokes and drinks Is in a relationship
